What's with all the P2W Servers now?

It's bad enough to rip code online which is copyright protected and given out publicly in good faith just to monetize it because you're a future EA dev.

But what is with this $80 subscription 200+ player servers that allow you to have a full metal/AK/Bolt every 3 hours? And why are most populated modded servers just P2W?

because modded servers can be a nice in and out experience for players who dont have the time or even want to give the effort to play rust normally sometimes its just easier to buy a lifetime kit for a server so you can get on whenever you feel like it and just get a massive boost that could help you actually get into the meat and potatoes of what your looking for in playing rust

But you can just join a Combat Server that loads everyone out fully with a kit at the same time, so this is a power trip thing no?

"Base Vanilla + Kits" doesn't add up.

5x is also large, in Vanilla I can get to endgame day 1 anyway and I haven't played in years in any capacity. Took me like 1 week to get the ropes back + new Monuments.

Rock = good.

Start everyone with Rock, let them get used to games learning curve.

They arent. Theres really not that many, and I think youre referring to one or two specific ones.

I really dont know how to answer a question like "whats with this" because how would I know, its your perception that youre questioning. Ive never been overwhelmed at servers that have VIP packages. In fact, I choose not to play on those because I dont find it fun when I start the game with anything other than a rock and a torch. Even when FP throws in snowballs for Christmas I get upset because it actually ruins the balance of the game to have to spend time dropping inventory items on the ground when someone can come up and kill you, plus you have extra things to throw you didnt earn which can make or break a beach fight.

Anyway, I think what youre really here to do is show that youre annoyed at P2W servers, and thats about it since nothing can be done, its not illegal, its not immoral, its their server (not yours) and thats about the end of that discussion.

Play a different server if you dont like those. There really are plenty of high pop non-P2W servers. Id say most of them are in that category and only a small handful go beyond typical booster type packages that give you base materials and food/water/roleplay items.

Feel free to name and shame them though, since really all you are here to do is show that youre not happy with them.

They're not all pay to win. A good few do supporter/vip package that only give things like bgrade which basically just makes upgrading your walls one click less.

Stay away from anything higher than 2x though. Higher than 3X especially is where you really find the toxic servers with game-ruining VIP.

Nah I could make a video, literally streamed it to my friends on discord.

Every single top tier modded server even "Vanilla or True Vanilla" all got kits/p2w.

It was kinda sad considering I was just trying to find one that didn't but screw it, went to official which is 100x better.

Cause you can never be too passive aggressive while complaining about something thats completely avoidable by simply not joining the servers and reading the server info before you do join so you know what you are getting into.

There are more than 5000 servers in Rust. A small handful of them have VIP packages.

Its actually you that is obsessed. Youve written this ridiculous post and responses about something you can literally just not join and youll be completely 100% good to go, no need to make any changes for other players that do enjoy that sort of thing.

Just dont join.
