Rust
stuttering and low fps
this game has been stuttering ever since i got it and i really don't know how to fix it, and also my fps only stays around 70's or 80's on optimized settings. I've tried everything I could on youtube, and I truly don't know what to do anymore. I really want to play this game but it's kinda impossible. The game does drop from 60 at times due to the stutter

Here's my specs:
Ryzen 7 3700X 8 cores 16 threads
Corsair Vengeance 32gb DDR4 (2x16) 3200mhz
MSI RTX 2060 VENTUS OC
ASUS ROG STRIX B450-F

This is the video I used to try and help it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Z2gYMj5-eQ

Also the game is installed on a Samsung 870 EVO 1tb SSD

temps are fine?

have you overclocked anything? cpu, gpu, ram?

have you undervolted or messed with your memory timings

what launch options do you use if any

when you play, what "graphics quality" preset do you use? (it's the setting for textures)
you can only run 5/6 with a 8gb GPU. Your RTX 2060 has 6gb of vram
so you'll be pagefiling if you use those texture settings (this causes stutter)

is your pagefile on your SSD? or is it on a HDD

What else are you running while playing rust ?

are you on windows 10 or 11?

what did you install before this started happening (programs, anti virus etc etc )

do you have real time scanning on with your anti virus (can cause stutters)

i would assume you've verified game cashe?

have you looked at the EAC/RUST or UNITY log file?

as a reference
this is how my system runs rust on official US long 250pop mid wipe

gtx 1070 +75 core +300 mem

temps have been perfect my entire time using my computer and i take care of it
never overclocked anything everything is how i bought it out of box
never messed with volts or anything
I used i think 4 or 5
it's on the ssd
windows 10
i don't use anti viruses and i make sure to close out everything in task manager before gaming except spotify, discord, and steam obv. (there is minor stuff like razer synapse, my drawing tablet software which uses nothing, and probably nvidia programs)
I've verified the game cache yes.
No I have not but I can, just need to know how.

thank you i will try this.
Bing Chilling Dec 30, 2022 @ 3:09am
there are some potential fixes that after we confirm specs and textures aren't the issue
you could try

though you should try above first before the other potential fixes.
