you wont be getting more than that so long as RUST uses Unity.
resolution doesnt even change fps output either, which is odd how in 99.9% of games it makes a difference but here it doesnt, same with settings, non matter they might as well not even exist in the menu.
its rust being rust, it wont get any better in FPS than youre getting already unfortunately.
game as it is uses like 18gb - 20gb and thinks its still in the single core Era core the core 2 Duo era.
ive noticed, that if someone doesnt have 24 - 32gb of RAM, theyll take longer to load or have stutters,
(because steam uses like 800mb then discord about another 700mb in the background)
i removed sticks from my system to test impact, 16gb ram WOW did it take much longer to load in, and would ocassionally get stutters while in other games max settings, 16gb is more than enough to push out high FPS, but anyways i put in another stick to have 24gb and loaded in much faster, with 32gb it takes about 2 mins to load in.
considering you're only getting around 70fps i would assume you're on something
6th or 7th gen i5. you didn't say what your CPU actually is, there's like 20+ different i5
cpus. Anyways, unless you can overclock your CPU or RAM
there is no fix, you and pretty much anyone running on a 1070 and above will be CPU bound
at 1080p. 70fps is rather low though as even the i3 9100f was able to achieve around
80fps when i tested in my system on official mid wipe 250pop.
It could also have to do with your CPU thermal throttling and lowering clock speeds
though you'd have to check that yourself.
get MSI after burner (no you dont need MSI products to use it)
and monitor GPU/CPU usage aswell as their heat.
check your CPU's spec page on intels website to see what it's thermal limit is
If you are thermal throttling, you will ether need to turn down clock speeds or get a better
cooler.
good luck man
