Can't log into rust+ with new steam mobile update

can't even login anymore sweet update valve!
when you go to login to rust+ on android with the new steam mobile update it will open steam ask you to confirm your account like usual but then hang on the conformation site because it can't access the site?? i hope this gets fixed soon because its so much easier checking on phone to see if i got raided/killed or not than logging into the actual server

I am experiencing the same issue, i try to login, but the steam app just hangs forever and the rust+ app does not seem to receive an auth granted response from the steam login page.

I believe this issue is caused by steam since it does not appear that the rust+ app gets an answer after successfully logging in on the steam app.

I am using IOS 16 on an iPhone 13 pro max with the newest version of steam and rust+ for IOS

Yep I'm 90% sure it's an auth issue hopefully facepunch fixes this

Reached out to Valve about this. For now it looks like if, after the Steam app automatically opens, you close the Steam app and switch back to Rust+ and click login again then it will open normally and let you in.

Not recommended: Alternatively if that isn't working you can try disabling "Open supported links" for the Steam app in your Android settings.

ya, steam screwed up royally with their crappy mobile update apparently, i personaly havent updated the app yet, as i keep my data off as i use a pay for minutes plan atm, so data is extremely limited and steam mobile having forced login and no working logout option, would chew it up in an hour or more, not to mention it using battery constantly while being logged in.

among that, steam mobile also supposedly logs you out on your pc every so often, forcing you to revalidate over and over, among other issues.

Valve have just pushed a fix for their app so there shouldn't be any more issues with signing into Rust+ anymore. Confirmed it's all good on my Android phone.

For iOS they mentioned that the fix would not need an app update but would need some caches to refresh on the phone in order for it to take effect. I'm not sure how long exactly it will take but hopefully better before tomorrow.

Solution on IOS:
Set Safari browser mode to incognito
Go to rust+ app and login (close the popup if there is one)
Somehow it magically works with incognito on, i guess as Lama stated a cache needs to be cleared for it to work properly.
