Which runs better? Ark or rust

Please help. I have ark and I can barely get 10 fps... Which runs smoother?

would need some pc specs to say for sure but if youre on the lowest settings in ark and only getting 10 fps i'd say rust wont rune either, maybe a bit better or worse but at bare minimum id say you need 24 fps to get ok exp

Rust plays better for most people in my experience. I can run Rust at 40-50 fps average no problem, even on highest settings. Ark continued to be a laggy unresponsive beast of a game even after I spent a couple days editing .ini files and using "useallcores" type launch options, lowering resolution etc. This is one of my biggest issues with Ark, the engine is pretty stupid. You need to use launch options to tell it how to handle the most basic things, like using a multi-core cpu.

In particular Ark seems to have some serious optimization issues when transitioning from one area to another, framerate is good and then "buuuuuuurp". Framerate evens out for a few seconds, then "buuuuuuurp" etc.

I have a different experience I personally run ark better than rust, also if you have any fps issues in any game consider using low settings and changing your resolution to a smaller size via settings just a tip for the future.

I would guess RUST...I have heard lots of complaints about ARK even from people with top notch gaming PC's

Rust runs way better then ark on my rig.
But, if I run rust in Window mode it runs worse then ark.

So, moral of the story is: ark is heavy and slow. Rust is light and fast. Except in Window mode:)

I can't even play Ark, looks like trash on medium settings which is all I can run on my 970 lmao and its still a really low frame rate, Rust runs perfect in comparison.

I'll help you with some advice regarding the mac situation:)

Sell the mac for as much as you can. Then buy a pc. Problem solved:D

That's your problem, macs aren't really optimized for games, let alone more demanding titles like Rust or Ark.

I find rust runs similar to Ark strangely even though the graphics are worse. And tons of shadow flickering.
