Flamethrower = Gamebreaking
What a cheap way to break the risk/reward system Rust has.

Melts walls, Doors in a matter of minutes and the only 'real' defence, is Armoured Doors/Sheet Walls, something no one can get on day one in solo/small groups when there are roaming death squads carrying 3 of them.

Game dropped.

build small, build hidden..

the one and only rule to solo-play.
Otter 21 ABR 2016 a las 6:39 p. m.
Half the issue was we did build small, it's a day 1 wipe of map (not BP) and people use the cheap to make throwers to wipe buildings down in a matter of minutes. It's broken the risk reward. Why bother maing C4/Rockets to attack big bases, when you can melt small/medium down in less than 500 LGF

It wouldn't be so bad if the thrower was:

Expensive to make
Rare to find (Library)
Cost a lot to run (ammo/fuel)
Damage was reduced on Sheet/ Stone

But as it stands, it's the opposite to each of the points above. It's a total gamebreaking drop.

Ok, so you built small, but how hidden? Let me guess, somewhere kinda close to a monument but not directly adjacent, i mean, you wanna be able to farm it kinda comfortably, right?..

The throwers haven't broken anything, it's given players not being able to get all the materials for explosives a way to be able to compete with those who can alongside just creating a new method of raiding.

If someone wanna knock down your base, however big it is, they will in one way or another, BESIDES the thrower is something you can COUNTER with the implemented waterbucket if you're online as they go.. If you're offline, well ♥♥♥♥, they found your place and they will get in no matter what as long as they put some elbowgrease in..

Lost count on how many bases i've raided, BY MYSELF, using bow'n'arrows alongside pickaxes, stone and sheet-metal aint squat if you're willing to spend some time and effort..

Basically, learn to hide your bases better or suffer the consequences, with or without flamethrowers.

I agree

Does it work on stone walls and metal doors?

Yes

Yes. Just a bit longer

And You can't repair the walls/doors while it's burning, yet if a C4 damaged your wall, you can repair it/upgrade

cause if you havnt noticed you cant really break walls or anything with tools anymore

that explains why i managed to shoot out 4 stone-foundations using solely a hunting bow a few hours ago

bow is really the only way for a fresh spawn to raid now

well that and people putting walls facing the wrong way, easy to hack up with a few pickaxes.

last time i checked ordinary pickaxes (not salvaged nor stone picks) dealt 0,5hp per hit to the back of stonewalls, which was literally a few hours ago.

well i did it when the backwards doors where changed to the same as front so maybe they changed it back

I tried the flamethrower when the update was out, and it didn't work on the sheet metal door or stone walls.
