Is Gamma Cheating?

During the night time I turn my gamma up. Is this considered cheating/exploiting? Light sources are kind of useless now. I used to play with normal gamma at night but I would get headshotted in pitch black darkness. So I turned by gamma up and now I'm killing people holding torches at night and it seems so cheap.

Its basically the same as cheating, I know every one does it but I feel its against how the game is meant to be played. So at night time I just stay in base and sort boxes/craft

how do you turn gamma up ? i didnt think you couldd ? i thought ppl just had to turn up screen brightness and display satting brightness ?

No i don't think you should consider it as cheating, because everybody can do this. It is the same as having grass turned off so people will be better visable. Some people also have beast pc's with max render distance, is it considered cheating for them that they can see an enemy from a thousand meters away and the other guy can't becuase he is playing on his grandmothers laptop? No, of course not. But I think it is the same thing. And to answer @Im wWith Stoopid, press your windows key and type 'calibrate display color' and set it as high as possible ;)

Yeah that's what I do aswell, I'm new to the game but not the genre and I refuse to cheat with gamma, in real life it doesn't turn to night and you type in a gamma code or flick a switch to get night vision lol

You could do this in legacy, but now you can't do this anymore or did I miss something? ;)

Gamma: Since this is a multiplayer game it's a cheat. But no one will ever know if you did. So many players use it, like they do in single player games.
