This made the game playable for me again, otherwise I start with 50 fps and then it slowly decreases until I crash.
Right, and gc.collect will allow you to clear the unusused ram without quitting the game.
Unfortunately that's not the only reason for the crash since the last couple of patches. The "you should update steam popup" crashes me to bluescreen (even though it's not supposed to trigger while in game) every single time.
Update: switching from the higher quality settings to Fast helped stability a lot, even though I get roughly the same framerate on higher quality, and used to have no issues.
well it would be the vram on the card filling up aswell he has only got a 660 gtx
so i tried, these commands, and didnt work, a bit better, but still stuttering, if i look in front of my without moving, im getting 70 fps, but if i move, fps drops occurs
thx anyways
I'm on Windows 7 x64 do you think I can try that?
The problem I have to restart every hour,
Interesting observations: FPS drops only when manipulating the keyboard (even looking at the wall and pressing forward) and the mouse (even the cursor with the inventory open). Movement in a passive state (for example, standing on a train platform) does not cause a drop in FPS. That is, lags begin only when using input devices. The drivers and system update are the latest. Reinstalling Steam and Rust did not give positive results.
You just necroed an 8 year old post that has absolutely nothing to do with your post. Clearly this op's hardware was insanely underrated for the game then, and absolutely is now.
Why would you even do this? lmao
By the way, I solved the problem (if you can call it a solution). It was not obvious. I had to enable Steam overlay. The problem is somehow related to the new video recording feature. It occurs to those who play on Proton.
