Rust won't open - missing executable
After the latest update I get the error message:

"An error occured while updating Rust (missing executable) :
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Rust\rust.exe"

I tried:
- Verifying files
- Repairing Steam files
- Restart PC
- Uninstall/reinstall Rust
- Disable Windows firewall and Zonealarm firewall
- Virus scan
- Opening Rust and Steam in Admin mode
- Reinstall EasyAntiCheat Certificates

All help is appreciated!

It might have something to do with the EasyAntiCheat because I get errors from them too saying they detected something.

I deleted Epic Games Client, and a bunch of random stuff I had installed recently. Maybe try that. Im convinced the problem is with conflicting programs that have little to nothing to do with Steam or Rust. So try delting random stuff, such as programs that also use Easy Anti-Cheat or that you recently installed.

That's why - Bullguard and RAV antivirus have been causing this issue lately. You should be able to disable it for the Rust folder and verify files in Steam to fix it.

I also deleted bullguard as one of the programs. Didnt suspect it because I never use it but it came with the PC. Maybe thats indeed it.
