noob: i can't build a wall!

Hello there. I've been searching what i'm doing wrong, but i cant seem to build a wall.
is there something other than the blueprints and the hammer needed? When I use blueprints, and choose wall, all that shows up is just the foundation. it doesn't even show a floor... what am I missing? I'm not in any Beta either. and I've tried a regular server as well. same thing.

you need to build a foundation first.

Yea you need to place a floor first, then as the first guy said you can select the wall and place it on the floor

Thank you for your time. but the issue i have. is that no matter what i select on the "wheel", either foundation, or floor or triangle, none of them show up. its always the foundation square. and its like this on different servers. so i'm thinking its something wrong with the game itself?

I've never heard of this as a bug before so I'm thinking user error somehow. It would help if we could see what you're doing, maybe a short vid.

You're using a building plan, have wood in your inventory and place a foundation but can't select anything other than foundation? - Sounds really odd like you're not doing something right.

Follow these steps;

1.. Have wood in your inventory
2.. Have a building plan in your hot bar
3.. Select your building plan
4.. Right click and hold, move to foundation, left click on foundation, release right button
5.. Place foundation - Left click
6.. Right click and hold, move to a wall, left click on wall, release right button
7.. Place wall on foundation edge - Left click

And this doesn't work for you?

You will use the hammer to upgrade what you placed to either wood, stone or metal again using the wheel... Hold right button select the material you wish to upgrade with (wood, stone, sheet metal or armoured) and left click on the material to upgrade.

You will need the relevant materials and quantity in your inventory to upgrade or they will be greyed out and unselectable.

thank you for your time! I do appreciate it! So, yes I followed those steps. and I do have lots of wood in my inventory. I do exactly as you say, except when i do #6, and choose ANYTHING, I always get a foundation. i see all the choices around the wheel, but every one i choose, shows up as a foundation.

You are left clicking on it and not just moving to it and releasing the right button? - That's the only way I can replicate what you are saying is happening.

OMG! I can't believe it! i was NOT clicking the left mouse button, but when the mouse selected the wall, i was simply releasing the mouse click! that did it. thank you sooo much!
