Rust - "Disconnected: Connection Attempt failed" [SOLVED] (2016)
Alot of people that play Rust have said that they get this error, and it has been going on for quite some time, for me it was almost a year. What I did to fix it was the following: (don't be lazy, just read it) :)

1. Switch the Beta mode to "July2016" and let it update

2. After that is done switch back to None, with no Beta version installed and let it update

3. Then you might get an error saying "Disconnected EAC: EAC connection failed"

4. Go to game folder inside steam folder, something like this:

(C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Rust\EasyAntiCheat)

5. Run the EasyAntiCheat_setup with administrator

6. Choose Rust, then uninstall (on the left)

7. Close the setup, then open with administrator again

8. Choose Rust again, Install it again, and then repair service

9. EXIT Steam, by clicking on steam, then selecting Exit

10. Go in steam again, then run the game, the EasyAntiCheat should update, and join a server

Enjoy

Just turn off all the running programs before you load. The anti cheat assumes all programs are being used to cheat. Motherboard applications and some GPU overclocking programs prevent it from working.
