Thanks for the opinion!
Guns:
Waterpipe: 40 scrap
Revolver: 50 scrap
Double Barrel: 60 scrap
Bow: 15 scrap
Crossbow: 20 scrap
Arrows: 5 scrap for 20 arrows
P2: 75 scrap
Python: 75 scrap
Thompson and Custom: 125 scrap
Semi: 150 scrap
Pump Shotgun: 150 scrap (I never sell pump its pretty useless, just an opinion on price)
Pistol Bullets: 8 scrap for 16 bullets (This attracts clans and people with guns who didn't grab enough bullets for an encounter or are just flat out. Some clans will come buy and buy 2 stacks which is worth around 128 scrap to you. Its just a better way to sell ammo in my opinion)
5.56 Ammo: 10 scrap for 16 bullets (Different build cost different price)
5.56 Explosive Ammo: 50 scrap
Tools:
These are extremely important to sell at start of wipe since the outpost is sort of a rip off and you can get crazy amounts of scrap from new people who just want a proper hatchet and pickaxe.
Hatchet: 16 scrap
Pickaxe: 20 scrap
Satchel: 200 scrap (Always sell at max around 3 satchels, any more and people could consider raiding you just for the payback your guaranteed satchels give and whatever is in your shop)
Beancan: 75 scrap (also sell around 6 max)
Salvaged Axe and Pickaxe: 75 scrap
Syringes: 15 scrap for 2 syringes (This attracts the people who don't just want to bp the syringe but actually need some for use)
All of these prices for guns and tools included often choke the competition into giving up, lowering prices below what they want to and refusing to refill once they are sold out, or competing with you. At which point you raid the base (if it is just a shop base), take it over and sell stuff at insane prices to drive people away from it and closer to your shop. This is a great way to make more scrap.
Armour:
Roadsign Gloves: 25 scrap
Roadsign Kilt: 40 scrap
Roadsign Chest plate: 75 scrap
Coffee Can Helmet: 20 scrap (extremely easy to make therefore should be sold cheap and in mass)
Hoodie: 25 scrap
Pants: 20 scrap
Boots: 20 scrap
For anyone who wants to buy a full set of roadsign clothes will have to pay a grand total of 225 scrap which is still the best price they will get and since it is all split up they can pick and choose what they want to get.
Building Stuff:
Garage Doors: 50 scrap (This is extremely cheap and hard to beat for other people)
Reinforced Window: 20 scrap (quite cheap to make, should be cheap to buy)
Large Furnace: 75 scrap
Oil refinery: 125 scrap
Not many things I would sell at a shop that are buildable because you really don't need any except garage door and some smelting stuff.
You can also sell cloth for 10 scrap for 50 cloth, people tend to buy in bulk and I always end up left with stacks on stacks of cloth from constant recycling trips. Being a merchant is extremely fun and I would suggest people try it, a new type of player style. I love it.
Reasoning behind all this is as follows:
Im a solo and found that the best way to get scrap and still have fun is to run a shop. You get to know your community, quite literally and they often will give you trade deals and protect you just for running a cheap shop. Your biggest problems will be the metal amount. You will need to build a shop base that can house around 6-8 furnaces just to always be smelting metal. You want to build far away from the outpost so people don't bother you, but close enough that you can still make a trip there to recycle and trade in stone for wood (which is extremely important for your 6-8 furnaces) make sure that you use the stacking wood trick where you build a huge amount of tcs in your crafting menu and as you walk back cancel it last second and make a new one with the wood, allows you to carry around 3 inventories worth of wood and is crazy good. Your other major problem will most likely be high quality metal. If you can't recycle enough because you get killed or intercepted on your way to a recycler, you have a huge problem. Guns are bought quick and you need to keep the stock alive. A few fixes to this would be to keep the metal ore that you get from metal nodes. I often threw them out because 10 high qual ore is not as worth as a stack of metal or sulfur, but in your case, it is extremely important to keep. Now a new problem has come up. How do I even get half of the blueprints to sell to people. Well an easy start is going to the outpost and buying the pickaxe and axe, researching it, mass producing it and start selling that. It's a great way to start of and allows people to know about your base. Whenever anyone comes by make sure to tell them that you have more stuff coming soon. For example say you will be selling guns, raiding materials, clothes, bullets, and everything they might need to research. This will make them think of you the next time they think, I should raid this guy or I should get a roadsign kit, or I need a better gun, they will look at your shop and see you are selling those items and come over to buy it. A few other problems I had to deal with is people thinking that the shop is a trap base because of the prices (yes this happens a lot) give it time and tell people its not. Be friendly and this problem will go away. I have much more tips I would like to give but I need to go to golf right now. Im extremely upset that nobody has any shop tips and I feel there really should be, so im spreading the knowledge for people to acquire and hopefully use to make the whole rust scene better by equiping everybody with weapons and allowing for more PVP and outplays.
I don't know the guy but at least he ain't out stealin... check him out, real life rust player, this might be coming to a neighbor hood near you!
