Placing items like planter boxes or salvaged shelves

I used to be able to place large planter boxes in a 1x1 small room but now it simply wont let me and it looks broken as hell when I try to place it and it says there is not enough space despite the fact that it clearly locks into position like it should.

It's been like this since a while now and I hate how it should lock into position and be placed like lego brick but it doesn't let you do it.

Same thing with the salvaged shelves with garage doors on both side. It should let you place them but some game mechanic with the item placement boxes needs to be upgraded.

The way I see things it should be like lego blocks. That way it would prevent people from abusing placement mechanics.

I've seen videos of people placing large wood boxes inside mountains and doing some illegal techniques while building allowing them to have two walls at the same spot where only 1 wall should be (making it more difficult to raid them). It's all fun and game really but in the long run if everyone is doing it... the game is just broken.

place while the walls are still twig. some times they can only be placed if only 2 twig walls are in place first....
