Rust banned for lagging (NOW UNBANNED! THANKS ALISTAIR AND THE FACEPUNCH TEAM!)

Hi I am a new rust player. Unlike everyone playing rust on PC, I don't have one and I have to play this game on my MacBook. Obviously MacBook is bad for gaming but this game is epic so I started playing a month ago. Every 5-10 minutes the fps drops significantly and I can barely move. Once I lagged when I was riding a horse, I kept moving back and forth as if I was teleporting (obviously I wasn't). Another time I lagged when I was walking, and it was just like I was moving in slow-mode. Unfortunately I got banned a few days ago. However I never cheated or even installed any cheating software as rust is the first muti-player game I installed on my current MacBook. Also I have my steam guard active so my account is safe. I sent ban appeals to EAC but I haven't got any reply. I contacted Facepunch and they said the ban is issued by EAC and I have to contact EAC. I understand that the review process takes time and mistakes always happen as no softwares are flawless, but I really hope my case can be investigated really quickly and EAC can get me unbanned. As I said, the only possible reason to get me falsely banned I can figure out is just lagging, given that I never cheated and never installed cheating softwares and my account is always safe. I hope this thread can catch the devs attention to help me investigate my case and I really thank them a lot. This game is REALLY epic. (I got 3 of my friends purchased the game and we had a lot of fun)
ps: PLS keep all your negative comments. False bans will happen and it could be you next time. I am here for help. If I cheated I wouldn't put that much effort to contact EAC and post a thread here. THANKS A LOT!!

After watching CNDBLOOD youtube videos for catching cheaters, I am pretty confident that I got banned for lagging on my MacBook. I saw people flying, floating on water and using jump hacks which is so funny. I understand that my movement would be sus but I legit lagged rather than cheated. I just hope devs or EAC can investigate my case asap and get me unbanned.

I got EAC banned temporarily for lagging and it has happened to my friend before as well. The ban lasted about 7 minutes I think. I think it's very plausible that people could be getting EAC banned for lagging, and yes it's definitely client side.

Thank you for the information. I might be more unlucky than you as I got perm banned. I am concerned that even if I get unbanned, I can get falsely banned again if I keep playing on my MacBook. MacBook sucks in terms of gaming (well it is not designed for gaming anyway)

It was the internet which was lagging, because fps can't effect overall gameplay, and others couldn't see if you had fps drops, they can only see wifi ( ping) higher which will result lags, like teleporting back etc

Could be lack of permisions on mac making eac less accurate or just being banned for suspicious fly hack violations sorry to hear it was banned 4 years ago for using an auto clicker to farm wood but if i were you i would just make a new account and wait till you get a windows pc Rust is extremely unstable on mac or linux so just wait for something better :/

Thanks for your reply. However I think my internet should be ok. There are FPS drops issues on Mac when playing rust. This happens every 5-10 minutes. Mainly because my graphics card is too bad. However as long as I never cheated (or installed cheating software) and my account is never hijacked, I think I should be unbanned. Just need someone to ACTUALLY investigate and review my case. Unfortunately no one is doing this job currently.

This is due to the ungodly amount of cheaters in rust as well as all of the false bams that happen this combined makes reply's slow or are literally just ignored, if you really are new you most likeley came from the surge from 60k active rust players to hitting a new peak of 200k and now sitting at 160k the player count has doubled and false bans as well as cheaters are more rampant making response times slow and un reliable

Thanks a lot bro! I know it is never a good idea to play games on a MacBook, but as I said this game is so good and I can't wait to play with my friends. I will probably get a PC in a few months but I want my account back as I got some twitch drops before and the skins are epic. I have no idea how EAC works on MacOS system but apparently the game and the anti-cheat software are not working well here.

I see. Thanks for your info. I started playing on Jan 20th. I joined an official server (130 active players every day in average) and I saw lots of cheaters got kicked out. I just couldn't believe that I got falsely banned. EAC said the respond time will vary from 3-14 days. I sent the appeal 8 days ago. I hope they can reply within a week, or this thread can get dev's attention and they might be able to help me investigate my case.

When you make comments, can you pls give useful information rather than just trolling other people. You have no evidence to prove that my ban is not a false ban. And you didn't say when and how your ban was removed. STOP saying useless stuff and making fun of others.
How many days between you got your ban and your ban was removed? Did you send an appeal to EAC? If yes, did they reply you? if yes, what did they reply you? This is the info i am looking for.
