do you have the same setting ingame as in the video you watched?

My CPU has nearly the same performance as your ryzen (at least in the single threaded performance which rust uses the most of). Got the same GPU as you and I have the same FPS problem. No graphics settings change that, this is happening after the graphics update.

I have been told the CPU is the problem, but I also am suspicious about my RAM. Its speed is very low.

What is your RAM speed?

How much ram do you have? and when your playing the game open task manager and see what rust is mostly using at that point, if its mostly cpu you might wanna look into getting a new cpu, i have a gtx 1660 with 16 gbs of ram with a ryzen 5 2600 and im not having any problems

Don't know if this will help. I have a friend with almost same spec as my pc but he was getting 30 to 50 more fps. Only difference was that i had 16gb of memory and he had 32gb. I didn't think it make that much of a difference but going from 16gb memory to 32gb did add on average 30 more fps. I also went from a Ryzen 1800x to 3800x and also gain around 20 or more fps. I used to get around 50 to 60 fps with my Ryzen 1800x 16gb memory and a 1070ti. I now get 90 to 110 fps with Ryzen 3800x 32gb memory and same 1071ti video card. I think with your pc specs, the fps that you are getting is normal. I think having lots of good memory make more of a different in fps in Rust more than anything else.

thats depends, it could be memory or it could be the game
if they are getting the drops on other games it could another problem but what from what they are saying it seems like they do need new cpus

rust is gpu demanding but it doesn't run at 100% is odd

Did you have a single 16GB RAM stick? If yes then that is the cause. 2x8GB would be much better for your FPS because the ram would run in dual channel. After you added another 16GB stick it began to run in dual channel and therefore you got an FPS increase.
