Rust
How to load Rust faster? Please help me!
I have to wait about 7 minutes to connect to the server. I have Asus X550LN 4 gb ddr3 ram. I know that it's not gaming laptop and I haven't got enough ram. I use 1360x768 resolution full screen and fast graphics.

1st problem, laptop. Its not a laptop its a NOTEBOOK.
2nd problem, not enough mem.
3rd problem, fast graphics.
4th problem, Rust is not optimised.

Laptops are not gaming laptops, even the high end ones, alot are out dated the moment you buy them. Im sure some people manage, but its not the proper purpose for the one you have as your NOTEBOOK is not a laptop, its a notebook. [insert fanboy blind defence here]

You can get a mem upgrade for laptops, its not expensive and easy to do your self. And dear jesus 4 gigs is not enough this game can use up to 6 for some people. That plus your OS and other apps..

Why fast? I mean I run fast and high detail but cos I can with no issues. Turn them down. Wont lower your 7 minute load much but.. Whats your fps with that setting?

And to end my rant, Rust is a pile of high performance and rusty nuts holding it together, some people need systems over max specs to run it at min specs, some people run it fine, others cant for no apparent reason, as said, not optimised, wont be for a long long time considering the re imagining of the core game like they keep doing. (yeah I know improvements have come, chillax)

Probably sound like a ♥♥♥♥ wrighting all that, but not meant to. Buy something better or keep struggling. Nothing anyone here can do for you.

Dont listen to this guy. Loading matters mostly on hard drive. Ssd will make games load fast

You need 8gb ram minimum, i had 4gb and still could run Rust but when upgraded it did all the difference, specially the loading time.

Don't listen to this guy at all, even with an SSD you're still limited by the speed of your ram, which is what the game actually loads to from your hd when loading the game.

8gb ram is the minimum spec, you'll even gain some fps.

I am 10 min loadgame

Get an SSD, it's like a HDD but, it has no moving parts. It's speeds are about 5-10x faster than a regular HDD. If you have the money you can pick up a 120GB SSD for about $40-$50.

Here is an example of a great SSD that increase your decrease your load times significantly: https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-120GB-2-5-Inch-SDSSDA-120G-G25-Version/dp/B00S9Q9UKS/ref=sr_1_7?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1478337233&sr=1-7&keywords=120gb+ssd

You need more ram.
And the loading thingy depends on HDD and ram.

I have an HP Omen and it takes foreverrr to load into a server. It continuously says it’s “not responding”. I have 8gb of Ram but would more Ram get me into a server faster or does it just make it run smoother?

when i changed to an ssd it stopped rust crashing and now loads any server in about 30 seconds so yea ssd is way to go

@nerdlsDaWerd - It might help as rust needs atleast 16 gb for recommended spec and even that sometimes is not enough as in people say more than 16gb can help alot

The maps are huge. You gotta expect that.

I have a bad laptop. 8 gigs ram but standard graphics card. Is there a way to upgrade my graphics card quickly and cheaply and have the game run decently? I can run games like rainbow six siege and Skyrim without issue but this game is just an anomaly to me...

That's insane. Developers shouldn't make a game that needs more than 16 gigs. That's like telling someone they need a super sledge to play baseball.
