Mouse cursor appears on screen.
I have an issue with my mouse cursor appearing on screen and getting stuck in the middle of it. It's extremely annoying because it effects my ADS through iron sights. Edit: Please help.

restart rust or change window mode or sum

Press ALT+ENTER to exit fullscreen and repeat this to enter full screen. The mouse should then disappear. This usually fixes that issue. If in windowed mode, just ALT+TAB out and back into the game and you should get the same result.

No either of those worked. It only happens after I open chat. It also does not allow me to move if I press shift with chat opened.

Well normally you can't move with the chat dialog open so that's normal. As per the mouse behavior, are you using some kind of mouse software beyond your driver?

No it's after I open chat. so I have to press escape to be able to move again even if chat isnt open

Ah yes ok I know exactly what you're talking about. I experienced this all too often. I never did actually get to fixing it. It's definitely something that has carried onward with the game's development for at least two years now. Maybe one day they will fix it. Don't hold your breath though.

Alright. That's fine. I figured there was no fix due to myself seeing 2 years back. Thanks for your time.

The fix is easy you open task manager and select windows explorer and at the bottom right of the tast manager it will say reset. click than click o nyour game wait 5 seconds and your good to go!

Restarting Windows explorer isn't a 'fix', but more a workaround. Everything discussed here is a workaround for the broken game. Rust is a special game where everything that is broken and worked around is considered a 'fix'. This sort of broken game design has been normalized for so long by so many people, they don't even understand what 'fix' actually means anymore. This has been a problem with Rust for literally years - more than half its life span actually. It's common among indie developers especially this one. Restarting explorer isn't the solution nor is my ALT+TAB suggestion. They're just workarounds for a broken game. It isn't unusual for this company either, to have broken games.

I'm really surprised people are still commenting on this lol. It's been a little more than a year since I posted this issue. Is it seriously still a thing?

I doubt it. Necroing old threads, however, is. :steamfacepalm:

We know it, others know it, but some are in complete denial. Games nowadays are about as good as a flat basketball in a football game.
