Rust
Helicopter bombed my base
Hey, so I haven't played Rust in a few years so I may be a bit behind.
I was sitting in my base, when a helicopter flew by and decided to bomb it to basically nothing. From what I remember, helicopters only attack you if you had a gun and more than two articles of clothing, which I had no guns and only a pair of pants on in the game. Could somebody explain what's going on/any new rules I should be aware of (google has given 0 information)?

It will only attack players wearing 3 or more pieces of clothing, or any gun better than a hunting bow, and when having a clear line of sight at about 200 meters range, or less. Though it's possible it attacks you when you are close to certain monuments, regardless of what you have on you.

When a target has been acquired, it will repeatedly attack or roam the area and leave after 30 seconds, if the target is hiding or dead. If the target is hiding in his base, it will start shooting explosive rockets at the base foundations. If target is not the owner of the TC in the base, it will only shoot napalm rockets.

From what you're describing, the helicopter definitely spotted you and then started shooting rockets because you went into your base. Maybe it saw you enter? Maybe it was a glitch and it spotted you while you were inside. I think that can happen occasionally.

I was playing on a private server with some friends, and I know the helicopter for sure saw one of them. Is it possible this triggered it? (The helicopter killed her, and shortly afterwards came to my base.)

If it was some messed up level of modded, then it could be a plug in.

it's 2 pieces......
why does everyone say 3
when its not
also ANY ranged weapon
nail gun and bows included.
NO it doesn't attack you for no reason
it doesn't attack you if you are near a monument
the heli will only attack you, if you didn't follow the rules.
or if you've shot a barrel with any ranged weapon. you will be considered hostile for 5 mins
10 mins to the compounds....
