Random explosions.

I've been playing on alot of different servers now, and even started my own. But i can't for the love of my gameplay figure out why these random explosions happens.
They happen both day and night, seemlessly without any que nor specific timing. It's like a huge explosions and then the ground is on fire. It has happened to me and a couple of friends now, and we can't figure out why.

are they just exploding randomly?

yes they lose health over time and will explode on the roads eventually

yes, when they decay completely, they explode
