I can't collect stones?

Hey, why I can't collect stones? I know how to do it and everytime I hit a stone there comes a notification with "You can't collect here" but only with stone, I have no problems with farming wood?

are you actually hitting stone nodes? or are you just hitting random rocks

Maybe that's the problem, but if this is my problem there are not a lot of stone nodes at the beach.. I'll try again. Thanks for your answer. :)

look for a big round stone thing, if its the right thing it will have a shining diamond thing on it that acts like the x on the trees
