That being said you can't limit how much power the battery sends out so any electricity stuff drains the battery at the same rate.

That video of mine shows you how to set up a sustainable power supply so that you don't run out of power. It allows the battery to be charged during the day (while still giving you power to use) and then automatically swaps to battery power at night. :)
Alternatively to the sustainable power source you could use a windmill if you don't need much power as thst would power your electricity at night as well though it depends where you've built.
You can test the power out of the battery yourself. Plug the battery into 1 single component (any component). If it's only using what it needs then it should only push 1 power into that component however I think you'll find it's pushing all of it into the component.
