Rust Audio Not Working "FMOD Failed to get number of drivers..."

So I booted up Rust and as soon as I got in game, my audio was not working. I checked and this error came up, "FMOD failed to get number of drivers... Error initializing output device(60)" Help please

You're using the wrong audio source. Open the Windows sound properties and make sure you're using the right source or have an audio source active (eg: headphones, speakers, etc.).

I don't follow. I can hear audio from other source while rust is open, but i cant hear rust audio

Oh OK, so you do have sound outside the game just not in the game. Gotcha. Well looks like the sound bug has once again returned to Rust if your audio is working elsewhere. This problem dates back on and off four years ago it's that old. Short of checking the Rust launcher optinos and in-game volumes you're just going to end up banging your head against the wall with this.

I fixed mine by uninstalling my headset drivers then reinstalling them

I had this issue and It was fixed when I restarted my pc and reinstalled the game (in that order)
