Uninstall and re download the game ... maybe it will fix your error .

Have you figured anything out for this? I have the same problem. I was able to play yesterday but only after reinstalling Steam, but this morning it's right back to the same problem.

I verified the integrity of the game files - Didn't work.
I reinstalled Rust - Didn't work.
I opened a cmd in administrator and ran sfc /scannow - Didn't work.

I can launch Rust from RustClient.exe just fine, but I can't play on any servers because it doesn't launch EAC. It's something to do with EAC because 7 Days to Die is doing the same thing.
