Sign painting, Save icon?

Can you save your painted signs? I have a little Save icon beside the trashcan icon.

The trashcan works and deletes everything but the save seems to do nothing. I am on a modded server and any answers would be greatly appreciated.

Almost 2 weeks and no responses...
This is something that I have been wondering about forever. Having the option to save my paintings for reuse would really help! This option would also allow people to safely paint inside their base, save it, then run outside and quickly load the save.
I have seen this discussed before. I am wondering if it is even on the todo list... I mean, the save button has always been there.

Saving Sign Art

When painting a sign, next to the reset icon (looks like trash bin), theres a save icon (looks like a floppy disk). If you click it, should this save your creation, because in the past I dont think it ever worked for me. Does anyone know how to use it or if its even usable?

Save Icon on Signs

Does anyone know how to use the save icon on signs? I cant seem to find any information on this.

The save button just updates the sign without closing the painting UI. There's no way to save/load paintings to your PC.

Can you develop a way to make this possible? We have Banners In the game and my clan likes to post our sigil outside like Game of Thrones. With the new clan updates this would make sense. We usually make the same art over and over and allowing us to save what's drawn in one wipe and uploading it in the next wipe would really be appreciated

We already have plans to streamline this with clans. You can paint your banner in the clan and then you will be able to paste that into whatever signs you want to in the world.

It would be better if anyone, not just clans, could be able to at least save sign images as a file so that the artwork can be saved. A lot of people put a lot of work into their signs and not having anyway to keep it really sucks :(
