IS 8GB RAM ENOUGH FOR RUST ANYMORE?

i have 8gb ram with a gtx 1060 6gb and a i5 7600k and i get around 80 to 100 fps but every few seconds ill drop to 10-40 will 16 gb ram remove this problem and make my game run smooth?

Short answer is sadly no, rust requires a lot I ram, every farm drop is when you ram gets maxed out and trys to get rid of useless parts of rust (which there basically no useless parts which causes your ram to quickly max out again, causing a cycle)

hmm, i would disagree. i only have 8 gb of ram and i run rust pretty smooth. its on potato settings, but im on a potato pc so it just makes sense.

Don’t buy it, bro! I play with everything maxed out and ALWAYS get 99-100fps.. my settings:
GTX 1070
I5-6500 (overclocked to 4.2Ghz)
2x4gb ram

As you can see, the 8gb of ram isn’t the problem, i’d say its your graphics card, this game is, no need to say, EXTREMELY GPU intensive, it only loses to life is feudal.

8GB of RAM today is pretty much the bare standard for most systems (minimal). For Rust, 8GB of RAM is basic requirement to even run the game (which isn't an accurate minimum). Windows (or other operating systems) generally consume anywhere from 1GB of RAM and upward to 2GB depending on drivers, system related software, etc. Generally speaking though, 1GB is the the usual consumption on most systems. No matter how much system memory you throw at Rust, it will always have stutters or jitter in some way no matter what you do. It's a fault of the game and even people with high end systems have issues with Rust. I know many who have stopped playing becuase of this among many other reasons. If you want decent performance, you can consider an upgrade to 16GB of RAM, but ensure that you are using the highest frequency RAM possible (in your budget range) that will pair properly with your processor. Lots of people don't pair their hardware properly and it can drastically affect system performance so be absolutely sure you're using the right system memory for your CPU and motherboard.
