Rust invisible/white screen

Hi Rust community,

When trying to launch rust I have come across a problem. When launching the game the window (fullscreen) becomes invisible; meaning that it has not crashed, it still is responding I just can't see the game but I can see the desktop. I can't acess anything on my desktop as the game is still open. It is as if Rust is open on the home screen but it is like a (real) window looking through to my desktop. The problem in this scenario is that I physically can't play the game as I can't see the game no matter what I have tried nor can I click in the position of any of the 'play game' buttons. I can hear sound but I can't see or access anything. I have tried launching the game in windowed and when I do my Rust window turns into a white screen with sound.

Side note: I have Rust downloaded on my HDD

I have an older gen Predator 15 Laptop and the PC specs are:
- Windows 10 Home
- Intel Core i7-6700HQ
- 15.6" FHD IPS LCD panel (screen)
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M
- 16 GB DDR4 Memory (RAM)
- 128 GB SSD & 1 TB HDD

I have NVIDIA driver version 398.11 released on the 06/05/18

Any help in any amount would be extremely appreciated.

I found a fix, but its not exactly convenient. I ended up wiping my SSD (where my os is located); that didn’t work and then I reinstalled Windows and that fixed my problem.

what i did to fix it was i booted into safe mode and reinstalled nvidia drivers, works fine i think now

Probably a much more efficient way of doing things!

i am having the same problem and i dont know how to fix it the game is oppening and i can hear the background but cant see anything. does anyone know how to fix it?

Too Nyone having this problem in the future like I did, I first Uninstalled reshade then updated my windows, ir worked fine after that
