So much bullsh*t here, i have an overclocked i5 2500k and a GTX 1060 6GB OC, and 16gb of ram, the game takes 8gb of ram, and i have 90 to 120 FPS in mixed high settings.

Your PC will run the game fine in 1080p60.

you'll be fine, heres a video with your setup, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hNSvqg4vjUQ and having 8gb of ram is fine, just note you'll get some stutter sometimes with only 8gb tho you will need an ssd to run rust smoothly with only 8gb of ram

AMD's newest CPUs out preform Intel's latest CPUs by a long shot, and are better in terms of pricing.

AMD Ryzen 7 3800X outpaces competition with less cost.

Main issue is hardware is pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ random. Age of part and cost have almost nothing to do with performance. You pretty much have to read out charts then check benchmarks for games you care about before making purchase decision. There there is like you said, some parts can be overclocked a stupid amount.
