Rust
Do I need a good computer to play rust?
I've been thinking about getting this game for a while, looking heartbreaking, sounds fun. My computer is pretty bad, and I usually play on the worst graphics. Considering if there is a graphics option, could my ♥♥♥♥♥♥ ass computer handle it? My system memory is 8 GB, Memory size is 512 MB, and my graphics chipset is an AMD Randeon R7 Graphics. Sorry if this is vague, but the game looks awesome, and i'd love to know. Thank you so much.

I would recommend a good computer, but people with the FX series CPUs and 8GB can play on Super Potato / Potato quality - you may eventually crash due to lack of memory, unless the page file takes over successfully.

As for the 512MB, you said 8GB system memory (RAM) - the 512MB is what, the GPU? If so still recommend super potato/potato graphics options and maybe play on 720p.

Thanks, I'm not good with computer specs, but I think you helped make it more clear. I have no idea how to respond, but I'm having my friend who's pretty good at computers, and thankfully, Rust, take a look at my computer and check it out. I'm saving up the funds to buy a new computer, so thanks. And if you do see this, would it run well enough that'd it wouldn't effect my experience, not counting how the game looks? Sorry, I don't know much, and thanks again. I greatly appreciate it.

You would struggle to effectively pvp and enjoy the game to its full potential as you will be playing on the lowest settings, maybe even selecting a lower game resolution from what your pc has, and still probably struggling to get 30+fps on any server with more than 50 people.

If getting a new pc is a certain, give it a go you never know.. but I would recommend getting something newer and spending £700+ without a doubt as i am fairly certain the frames you get will be pitiful... and annoying thing with rust is that for some people low framerates also causes mouse lag ( move mouse, 0.25 seconds later screen moves ) so again pvp will be painful

You can type dxdiag on the windows search and run the command It'll tell you all your computer specs.

on a 750ti? i highly doubt it, the game uses 5-6gb of vram on fantastic and on top of that a 1050ti can hardly keep up at 1080p dipping into the high 40's when in the forest areas, so i can't see your 750ti being able to keep even above 30 at the same settings, maybe you could play on the good preset at 720p to get 60 but even then i can't really see that, the 750ti is pretty bad gpu nowadays

I have the fx 8320 and 8gs of ram and never ever my game crashed. I'm playing 80 fps on a 30 pop server with occasional micro freezes but that's okay for now.

Hence why page file is important, though utilizing the hdd will impact performance
