Why do people still play in zergs? How is it even fun?
I was in a zerg once.. It was the most boring rust experience in my life the game was like super easy mode. How do you people that stay in zergs have fun out numbering everyone 5 to 1 if not more... Do you not like challenging yourself and improving your skill or just living life the easiest way you can not ever having to do a thing?

- from a slightly salty solo player that just got zerged on again :steambored:

Zergs are used by one or two players who think they are good at this game. By using a buch of players that are probably not very good by themselves they win. This some how fulfills their thought of being a good Rust player. I stay away from Zergs for this reason.

The nature of the game encourages it though by design and imbalance. It all boils down to bad game design and development process. I wish it could or would change, but Garry doesn't want things to change or to change his company to improve both the game and company itself.

Out of all my hours, the MOST I've EVER been with at once was 5 people. But I've always wanted to join a zerg, whats it like? Besides the boring part, of course.

Well, it depends on the group you are playing with honestly. It can be fun working together with a team, but it can have its disadvantages too. For example in some zerg groups, you might login with all your gear missing because someone took it, boxes you stashed things away in go missing, things might become disorganized, conflicts of interest may come up and so on. Your group experience will largely depend on the type of people you choose to play with.

In the zerg I played with it was dealing with a lot of teammates that couldn't land a shot to save their life (literally the worst pvp'ers I've ever seen) also people that made terrible decisions and didn't know some of the most basic things in rust were leading the way for some reason, also some of the "leaders" were extremely toxic and would kill teammates just for no reason and tell them they are not allowed to take guns out, only they could have the guns after just logging in for the first time but then they would lose them. I remember only being allowed to take out a bow for the first few hours of a wipe (even tho solo I can get some sort of gun in that time) but anyway I would make a play with a bow and get a gun, and they would make me depo it so it can sit in a chest and collect dust. And even playing with all these horrible people the game was still too easy, day 2 in the wipe we would have an unraidable base and we would all have aks (not like half the zerg could land any shots with them tho) I won't say which zerg this was but they were the biggest at the time, probably still are. Oh also I forget to mention the confusion on who is friendy and who is enemy will literally give you aids and have you ever been in a channel with 50 players before? The comms will give you ear cancer
