Not at all. Progression is completely crushed by this on official servers since getting elite crates is now near impossible . How am I supposed to do other things when the high tier items are locked off in elite crates?
You could do what the devs intended by doing this (along with the hazmat suit leaks), which is...I don't know...stop camping elite chest sites, and interact and trade with your fellow players.
Has nothing to do with camping elite chests....people refuse to understand the point. The fact is, they spawn every 2 hours. That's 12 times a day. If you play on a high pop server, there is next to no chance of getting them. Not to mention the terrible spawn chances in them. Should be improved with the new loot system this week.
The point is moot, when you consider that the devs intended you to begin interacting and trading with your fellow players. If you were doing this, it wouldn't quite matter how many times you don't get the crate, or even who does gets the crate in the end, as long as someone is willing to sell/trade the items, and you're willing to pay for them. The fact is that the devs want people to start interacting, and they want people to start using the vending machines more as well. That means people have to be willing to put up vending machines and start selling, and you have to be willing to visit the vending machines and start buying. There are thousands of servers out there, so if your fellow server mates are not willing to sell/trade the decent loot (and lets face it, even the elite chests have junk in them, so you aren't guaranteed anything good if you do get a crate anyway), then there are MANY other servers to check out.
