[EAC] Game Client violation: unknown file version (bundles\maps\maps.bundle)

this pops up in the upper right hand corner. what does it mean because i have most definatly have done nothing wrong.

also im having trouble logging into a server when i click join it doesnt load but for like 20 seconds then says disconected: EAC: authentication timed out (1/2)

please fix soon i really love this game or if its on my end please let me know

Try to reinstall EAC or load it up again.
Verify the game files of Rust
If none of them work Reinstall the game.

I Deleted the "maps.bundle" File and Verified the game files and it is back to normal, Somthing must have happened this update and corrupted it. I Was having the same issue today

Im getting this same error now too, for maps and texture bundle. Game file verification not catching anything so going to try redownload over the night.

EAC errors mean you gotta repair the anticheat software. This is how:

The filepath to the setup was different for me. If you cant find it, try going here.
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Rust\EasyAntiCheat

If that doesn't work, open the steam client, right click on rust and open the properties. Under the "Local Files" tab, select "Verify integrity of game files". See what happens.

After this last update I have had the same issue. I reinstalled and it worked after that, but the error just happened again....
