Can't craft or find guns

I am around 7-8 hours into a singleplayer game, and I simply can't get any guns except for the eoka. I've been to just about every monument and radtown (except for water treatment plant) and didn't find any.
I have found half a dozen SAR receivers, an AK receiver and a few rounds of shotgun ammo.

I haven't played in a long time, but I think the last time I played all guns were easily craftable.
From what I understand, there is a new system to crafting and obtaining items, including a blueprint system. What people have been telling me is that I need to break down a firearm in a research table in order to craft any.

Obvious problem: I can not find any guns.

I broke hundreds of barrels, looted a few dozen crates as well as two airdrops, and the green crates at Launch site and Airstrip.

Why can't I find any guns or gun blueprints? Do I need them or am I just missing the correct way to craft them?

My theory: the server "levels" up the tiers, meaning it spawns guns after it's been online for a while or the player is high enough for the weapon to drop.
Any help on the topic would be greatly appreciated. The red-eyed serial killers can be really scary if they can just lag their way out of your arrows. A gun would give me much more confidence and make hunting and defending against hostile wildlife much easier!

From what I have seen on youtube, I have over ten times more crafting supplies than needed to craft some of the firearms.

I've got guns within 7-8 hours of gameplay at my own dedicated server. Where I play as a single player. So just play some more and be patient, you'll find them eventually

Where or how did you find them? I feel like the loot I've been getting was slowly increasing the longer I played. Around 4h in I started finding metal tools, then later on swords and maces and crossbows.
Does the loot actually level? Or is this just Placebo?

This would mean that if I keep building my base at some point guns might become standard issue loot.

Had the same issue we've been breaking down barrels and getting only Scrap combined with either Ropes, Metal Blades and/or Tarp We did not find any guns nor blueprints we only found deco, blueprints

Best way to get guns is by raiding. Think of it as multiplying your loot by how many player are in a base. It almost always results in profit

I think just having put in half a dozen hours after not playing for over a year is a good excuse for being bad, nothing to be ashamed of there. No reason to be an ass about it.

I figured. I'm on singleplayer though :/
Still probably the best alternative if anyone has this problem online.

chase all the air drops , dont go with full bag tho cause that would be dumb, simple bow and what ever armour u can grab, and the supply drop should give u your guns failing that try kill the randomers who run for the same air drops , kill one loot him and run, might have to do few times depending on if you die or not but jsut thought i would give a easy cheap way to get guns

The game just takes time to play try to find a teammate with a few hundred hours to help you out

If you want early guns, make a compund bow and go shoot scientists off of oilrig.
