Will "Rust" run on my Dell inspiron N7110 i7?

So ive downloaded the game, started to play but i cannot play with such bad lagg/delay. Just need to know if its my Laptop because its so old (got it back in 2012) or if there is something ive missed in the settings. turned everything down as far as i can but it hasnt made a difference.

if u can upgarde to a 960 from reddit hardware swap 60-80 dollars you will be golden man ur ram is quite low for rust but i run 750 ti , i3 , 8gb of ram on low settings get 70 fps and 100 on barren

Get a new video card and consider more RAM. Don't hardware swap either unless you know you can trust the source. The base 8Gb minimum requirement on their store page is misleading. You should have about 12Gb+ RAM for decent game performance. Rust is quite the resource pig. DirectX 9 support isn't even in Rust anymore yet it's still in the system requirements on the store page.

Alright thank you all for your help and advice! might just wait awhile and get a gaming desktop in a few months. this laptop is great but 5 years old now so i figured something was out of date.
