Sleeping bag and TP bug?

So me and a friend have just started playing, I can place bags down, but when my friend does it disappears, and if I put a bag down and assign it to him it also disappears
Also, he can teleport to me but I can't teleport to him
Any ideas on how to sort this out would be appreciated
