The cheapest way to destroy it is with a metal sword and repair it with metal shards on the repair bench (you need to have the tool of choice researched in order to repair it). It may take around 2-3 swords + repairs if i remember correctly. A faster method is to use a jackhammer; you can repair it for free with a workbench
