how to use the in game map?

i don't know how to open up the in game map, can someone tell me how?

Once you have a map in your hotbar (the main inventory spaces on the bottom) you can hold G and the map will come up. While holding G, right click once and then you can use the mouse wheel to zoom out. If you want to know how to make a map you have to hit a tree once with your rock / hatchet and then make a piece of paper and with that paper you can make a map!
