yes. people can just twig into your base. open roofs are gone, now you have to close in your base, and when you want to expand, you have to c4 out the roof. sucks. im done playing the game for now. just not fun when anyone with a few hundred wood can come sit with me on my roof.
this may work on low pop boring servers, but i like the activity of a high pop. and with this many nakeds and others around, its a mess of people twigging all day and me running around to break it off, and getting ganked in the process.
sounds hillarious
Forgotten scenarios where external walls are useful:
1. Pvp nonsense;
2. Prevention of ladder building on the side of your base.
You have to be narrow-minded to think of only one (1) scenario, which is:
Compounds and enclosures (same thing, really).
I will still continue to use external walls and will completely ignore their "uselessness".
Nobody has forgotten this it's fairly common sense. It doesn't stop someone from building up and dropping a lader or twig tile on the wall anyways. if you're knowledgable of the game, you know how to bypass those scenarios thus making your ladder theory pointless. As for PvP, that is the only use left for them honestly, but realistically people will use HEWWs over HESWs.
>Nobody has forgotten this it's fairly common sense
The title of the thread suggests otherwise.
>It doesn't stop someone from building up and dropping a ladder or twig tile on the wall anyways
Yes, it doesn't, but some base designs won't let you do that. Saw this one base where it utilised externals and wood signs on ovehangs to prevent you from building ladders. You just have to be clever with the new update, that's all.
> if you're knowledgable of the game, you know how to bypass those scenarios thus making your ladder theory pointless
You can bypass anything. No loot room is safe.
>As for PvP, that is the only use left for them honestly, but realistically people will use HEWWs over HESWs
They can use whatever suits them, really.
I am not the biggest fan of the update, nor do i play Rust vanilla. I strictly play on a battlefield server with my friend. Only played 30 minutes of the new update, so i didn't really adapt to it.
Bye bye.
Why the insults though? Here's the reasons:
1. These kinds of threads are annoying;
2. You asking a dumb question in the title (of course they are still useful)
3. Because i can.
Tune in next week to see me say that big furnaces and oil refineries are not useless in 3 easy scenarios.
Yeah, they should give external walls more importance. They can't leave them like this...
