Harddrive at 100%
So, my last Graphics Card broke around 4 months ago, I got a new one yesterday. I'm actually able to run Rust on 150 fps BUT my harddrive will always be at 100% capacity so my frames drop to 10 every few seconds, it is legit unplayable and I do not know what to do
( I'm able to play Gta on nearly Highest Settings without any laggs or my harddrive going over 30%)
Any one here with same problems or a solution to it? Thanks in advance

What do you mean? Your hard disk space fills up? Maybe your pagefile is too big. I know a lot of people try to compensate for RAM by using large pagefiles. If that's not the case then you can just rack it up to the game being broken and not performing as it should. Many will make excuses that the game is in alpha and it's ok for it to be constantly broken or unplayable, but fact is it shouldn't be as broken as it is. Development is a mess. Company is a mess. Game is a mess. I've quit playing personally due to all these reasons and won't support them anymore.

Do you mean memory, as in RAM? Because lately Rust has been chewing up my ram to 100% and i get heaps of lag to where its unplayable. Always been fine untill i have started playing again after a few months break. As an average i get 70fps on max graphic settings... but ram lately has been used up at 100% A temp fix i have found is to keep everything in game on max but when u launch the game (the startup box) put the graphic settings on fastest, while doing this its only using 85% memory (RAM) and it runs like it used to run. I just hope the devs know about it and a fix is in the works.

Na that's not what I mean, I have 8 Gigs of Ram, which also are at around 85% but that should be fine I guess

What I actually mean is that my hard disk always shows up to be at 100% utilization ( In Task Manager) when I play Rust, which makes it lagg every few seconds. My FPS pretty much are at 120-150 all the time but then suddenly they drop to 10 and go up to 150 again

Have you checked your Windows pagefile as I suggested?

at least 3 of those 8 gigs are going toward just your operating system. you should consider yourself at 4 or 5 gigs of ram. buying more would be recommended. this game is a memory hog too which doesnt help.

Hardrive usage @100% means it's trying to read or write as fast as it can. If you're having this issue consistenly then you may be experiencing a windows 10 bug many people have dealt with. Windows > Services > Extended > Communication and Telementry I believe - You can right click this, disable it hit apply and then hit stop. This may solve your issue.

The problem is not Windows. Their hardware runs fine when not playing Rust. The problem began after Rust updated on Thursday. Three days prior they had no problems. Rust is the problem. It's been sorted.

Just because hardware runs fine when they're not playing Rust, that doesn't mean it's not Windows. Go hit up the process, it's an issue and causes excessive disk usage when playing games. (Related to Firewall). Glad to hear he's resolved the issue

It's related to Windows usually yeah, I know. Everything is fine though. It's Rust.

I had that issue going on for 2 weeks then my hard drive started to play up (couldnt start pc as had corrupt files, when would load game and normal files corrupt) this happened over 4 days i tried new cables and different sata plugs but was then told my hard drive was failing.

Maby spend $70-100 on a second hard drive and install games on that one. See if it fixes your issue
