how do I use skins I created?
I've recently started making rust skins (literally have one made). The biggest reason I want to make skins is so I can use the skins I make (getting one on the official store would be cool, but I just want to use them for myself mostly). However, after making the skin and publishing it I still can't use that skin in game. So, my question is this. How do I access skins that I've created in game for myself to use?

They need to be accepted into the game before you can use them.

It's actually not "♥♥♥♥♥♥" at all. If any user could simply add their own skins that would defeat the reason facepunch added them.

There's the obvious reason, they added them to look good, and they don't want ♥♥♥♥ guns that anyone makes.

Second, skins were added to increase revenue. Players buy skins and a percentage goes to facepunch. By allowing any user to make ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that would undervalue the whole market.

There's other reasons of course. But that's just a couple.

Oh, you mean skins are added to create a skin scam to make more money while they cheap out on development? If they would have thought it through, they'd allow people to have custom skins of their own to run on their own servers, but because Facepunch is greedy, they've designed the skins to be global so that every skin they accept makes them money.

Oh how I love and miss the good old days when customizing your own server to make it unique apart from everyone else's was a thing. Those are the good old days though when there was a balance between making money and giving people leverage to do whatever they want with their games. Now it's all about greed and making money.

Actually, it's completely ♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Why do they care what I look like running around in game? It's my game expierence. I paid them to play the game the way I wanna play the game.

I don't give a ♥♥♥♥ about making money off my skins and I surely don't give a ♥♥♥♥ about facepunch's financial situation.

Simply put, I should be able to make my character look however I want it to look w/o having to spend more money.

Personally, as I said, I don't give a ♥♥♥♥ if other people want to use my skin. I'm not into making them for everyone else.

So yeah, it's pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥ that they have it set up the way they do.

Sad but true. The simple reason why I can't make a skin for myself.

Overall, eh well, not my loss and here's why:

I'll never vote for another skin.

I'll never spend $ on skins.

I won't bother wasting my time making skins. Until the current system is revamped and geared more toward the individuals gaming experience.

+1 common sense.
+1 honesty.
+1 non-fanaticism

Some people will never understand because they've either been brainwashed or grown up to accept this in video gaming industry as how things should be. Anyone who has played video games over the past 25 years knows this is wrong and it should not be this way. Buy these skins, buy this DLC, pay for this subscription, pay for VIP access and so on. This is one of many reasons I do not support this company.

as I stated, I paid them for the game already, it's my gaming expierence, why do they give a ♥♥♥♥ what I look like?

not my issue you can't grasp a simple concept.

you're part of the problem in this world. so take your little braiswashed, inbred lemming self and move on.

Actually, if you understood anything about video game hosting and daemons, there are lots of games that allow you to use your own skins and play online with them. You call this person an idiot, but what you're doing is proving who the idiot really is with your cursing and assuming you know how hosting games and skins works with online games. You clearly don't know much about this subject.

Telling a person to leave playing the game too makes you no better than Garry Newman not being able to accept criticism about his company's game. If they don't like what you have to say you are just bored and should go play something else. If you praise them, you're loved and praised. Do you see the problem with this way of thinking? Eventually people do lose interest and move on because the community is generally toxic and closed minded just as is the company.

It would be if you could create skins that you can use for yourself. Client side. ie without other people being able to see them. But i dont think facepunch want lots of screenshots on their webite of people dresses as nazi shout "HIEL" in chat. Not great for the company public relations.
No game will let you create skins willy nilly that others can see though without some sort of approval.

Yeah, well this is the thing is freedom of expression is being taken away because lord forbid someone might get offended, but it's alright to push a political race and sex agenda. You see the problem with this whole picture? It's not as though skins on custom servers are going to reflect the image of the company. It reflects the image of the host of the server in question and those who play on those game servers. Lots of games allow custom skins too that don't have to pass some sort of approval system.

Forcing such systems is fascist. Do you support fascism? Not everything has to be the way it is, but the problem is too many people are confirmist and just accept what they are fed on a spoon. What ever happened to people standing up for their rights in this world? Has everyone become so spineless that they accept programming so blindly and ignorantly? Political correctness has clouded so many people's ability to use reasoning, logic and common sense that even our video games are becoming politically correct, sensored and dictated. Is that all society is now is a walking program that submits and must be tolerant of everything? Come on people seruiosly, shake your heads and think about what's been going on over the past 15-20 years in video gaming.

yet you're still here. so who's the real moron here. someone who actually has valuable input or someone who thinks it's all useless and is just here to rag on someone else? is your life that bad? you have such little value to your time that you waste it on what you consider "stupidity"? your life that meaningless that you have nothing better to do?

wasting time on something you care nothing about is what's stupid. meaning you're the only stupid one here. (I explained that because I highly doubt you're smart enough to figure it out on your own.)

go away kid.
