It won't work if you unplug your mouse and the pointer still appears.
In this scenario, you should open Run (Windows + R) and type devmgmt.msc
Then open the Mice tab, and you'll notice you have more than one mouse devices.
Open them all, and in each, open the Device Management tab and press the Disable device option.
In the process you'll disable your mouse and will have to disable the others with your KEYBOARD ONLY.
You need to disable them one by one untill the pointer disappears.
Use ALT + TAB to navigate between windows.
Use TAB when you're inside the device window, untill Disable Device is marked, then hit ENTER.
When the pointer disappears, you can enable the devices back (Disable Device will become Enable Device) and you're good to go.

Yes indeed, but sometimes the server you're in just got wiped and has a long queue. In this case, restarting is not the best option.
