It really depends. Being a more strategic base planner now matters; turret placings, traps and barricades matter, which though more of a grind, means that un-used defenses are used more.

It hurts roofcampers a bit, if you do it right, and solo's can more easily do things now, which includes raiding.

However, loot rooms are no longer safe; a roof is now easily accessed, barricades are a must. I'd recommend playing smart if you do build more. However, if you're a small base builder and just do what is necessary without honeycomb, you'll find the twig update fine.

If you play hardcore, and actually grind to build 4 layers of honeycomb, this update will hurt you a lot.

It doesn't matter at all......
You can literally build the exact same base you used too before the twig update, but now you have to make 4-6 floors above your base with honeycomb along with the normal honeycomb you do around your base!
Basically you have to build a base 4-5 times as big to do the same job a smaller base would have before the twig update, by the time you have built this massive base the server will be dead.........
NO THANK YOU!

A good fix the devs could make is just to make floors stronger. Make the bottom the same strength, but the top twice as strong as normal.

Making 4 floors to protect a bottom floor loot-room does sound a bit of a hassle.

I play solo btw
Rip solo
Not worth playing anymore at all.

How is solo dead? It's the same for solo, if you didn't have a huge base.

If you had a big solo base before, with a loot room high enough to not get raided from below, then yeah, it's dead now.
Read above ffs.......you have to build a base 4-5 times as big to do the same job as before the twig update! by the time you build it the server is 100% dead.
Totally pointless.
Play your dead servers, np.

By a 'not huge base' I mean, just a base that you store things and have furnaces, not something to actually defend against raids. So, pretty much, if you've played solo using sh!t-shacks before the update, it's still the same stuff.

I raid around 10-/+ $hitshacks a day.
They are only good for a few hours, not worth it as a main base.

That is my opinion anyway buddy, you are not changing my mind, no matter what you say.
All the servers are dead anyway and die even faster now and even the 1-2 popping servers feel dead and are super quite and boring, and many of my steam friends have just stopped playing.

All the above I have just mentioned and adding the new base you have to build 5 times as big has just killed the game for me, and many many others, just need to look around.
This update killed solo players. I tried twice this month to get started but both times I was raided within a day, from the roof. I am not going to subject myself to that kind of pain. This is a game.

Something I'd like to put out there, turrets should be weaker but have their components spawn more regularely, maybe.
Upsides are the fact that many more players can have turrets, which makes base defence easier.
Downsides is turret spam, which hurts.

Maybe flame turrets should be a little cheaper, still? Or buffed a little, such as creating the fire-ball entities in the general area as well as creating a spray, which means they have to be dealt with rather than ran straight past

Wait, holy sh!t.

I thought it would be $hitty as fu@k, but 384 rounds with 1 round per second; that's enough to scare away a raider for sure!

Weak, though. Might have to have some kind of barricade to hide it.

Anyway, I'm sure this might help to secure bases. Still though, I vouch for the ceiling buff. Seems like that's what upsets a lot of people; the fact that raiders go for the roof rather than the bottom floor.

no metter where u place ur loot room. i spent 40 hours farming and building base strait. i farmed 7 boxes of stone built huge ass base. dude that i killed and got airdrop from, his group came offline and raided me from top. they used 60 rockets. they got all of those rockets in 3 days. i dont think the problem is the tc. the problem of rust is that its too ez to get explosives to raid, and its really sucks
but my opinion is, build fat slash tall bases and keep in seperate parts of base on 3rd floor

If someone raids you with 60 rockets - you have nothing to complain about. Especially for a solo player.
