the game just crashes
so i just bought the game and everytime it's crashing telling me to ''error while loading:worker thread: could not save session'' and telling me ''please verify game cache integrity'' any help?

So sorry you are all having issues. The team are aware, but I'll chase it again.
Same thing. Win11, xbox controller. Game is installed on a non-OS nvme. Also I can see that save files and backups are created in user documents folder, not sure if it matters

Hello, I was having the same issue and found out it (at least in my case) it was because I had a music player app that had taken exclusive control of audio. This is ok for nearly all the games I try but this is one of the cases where it doesn't like having its audio being routed to nowhere. So I closed the app and the game launched normally.
I was running into the same issue. What I did to fix it was navigate to C:\Users\ [user name] \Documents\My games -> right click on the folder -> open properties -> Security -> Advanced.

I then changed the owner of the folder to my user, and, after changing the owner, be sure to check the box below that says "Replace owner of subcontainers and objects". After hitting apply both Steamworld Dig 1 + 2 worked with no problems.

Note: For me, the owner was already my user, but I needed to change it to my user again and check the aforementioned box.
