Exactly the same problem.
I then changed the owner of the folder to my user, and, after changing the owner, be sure to check the box below that says "Replace owner of subcontainers and objects". After hitting apply both Steamworld Dig 1 + 2 worked with no problems.
Note: For me, the owner was already my user, but I needed to change it to my user again and check the aforementioned box.
