What item am I supposed to put on the pedestal? I can't figure it out for the life of me.

It's very obvious once you've found the item

If you dig up the meteor that is buried at the junction of the left and right eye, and place it on the altar, you will get the Meteor Hammer, a nice heavy weapon

can someone help me find the right eye? I found the left but not the right eye...a location of the diggin place would be fine as well :-)

Right eye is at the south east of the Bog.

I've been digging everything up near the head in the south east part of the bog map... cant seem to find the meteor! :( any better hint?

You need to know the locations of the right eye AND the left eye. Then you need to work out what they're both looking at.
