Good light sword?
So my knight has been using the same broadsword for quite awhile. I have great guns, great two handed weapons, and staffs out the butt. Any idea where I can find a good one handed light weapon? I rather not us a gold key, but will if I must.

I think I found one in the graveyard, and I think theres another one in the flooded area behind a gold lock.

There is a slightly better light sword in the graveyard behind a gold key
There is also elemental longswords (Fire and lightning that I found so far)
Nothing else yet though.

I had this issue: Bane and the Meteor Hammer are both heavy weapons, as are more mundane (but hard to get) specials such as the scythe and perfect axe.

Scythe- In the catacombs, last boss fight room keep an eye on the north most teleporter exit - there's a two step secret button that will allow you to get it. i.e. port through, turn around and spot the button... then find the other one (it's close). The scythe is amazing for crit build barbarians - +5% crit, x3 damage on crit and extremely fast.

But yeah - distinct lack of special / named 1H swords so far. Boneblade found in the cemetary using a gold key is decent, but hardly amazing.

I just found a light sword in the pyramide Sickle sword so far the best light sword i got with a nice special .

Second floor at the beginnning, turn out the light by steeping into it, that will open two rooms with mumies in it. One of them contain the sword in a locked chest

I'm heading to the pyramid next, really hope that sword is better than what I have. My 1H fighter is falling behind fast, she does like 40 damage while my heavy weapons dude is doing 130...

It doesn't - even the sword from the castle is much worse.

So they're pretty much forcing us to dual wield then? I think the 40% damage reduction is way too severe for that to be worth it... 20% would've made more sense if they're not going to give us a decent 1H sword.

What i've found so far, is most of the good one handed light weapons are dex based. Not amazing for knights or fighter. I've been in the pyramid, but don't know if I found that sword. Will have to recheck. I'm still using the bone sword I got with my gold key.

Found it and thank you so much. It's about 10ish damage better than my bonesword. A little slower, but the multi hit combo does some nice damage.

From memory, the sickle sword is worse than the bone sword.

There was obviously a mechanics issue with light weapons, and instead of trying to balance out rogues, they simply nerfed the crap out of light swords. There's no named Light Swords that use str ingame barring the bonesword and the ones you'll be using single handed + shield at endgame have *worse* damage than dex based ones you'll be dual using on a rogue (Serpent Dagger + Moonblade), that's not even including the huge +% crit rogues get.

TL;DR

Do not go light weapons with sword+board. Game makes it suck, hard.

No sickle is better .... well less bad. But i agree any warrior is best suited whith heavy weapon.

The spot when you hear the clicking sound and the light goes out? I am near the end of the game and not sure whether or not I dumped the sword (I only have heavy weapons and dex based light ones) or haven't found it... Could you be more specific please?

Sickle Sword is, damage wise, much better than the Bone Blade. It is, actually, on par with the two best Dex-based melee weapons(Moon Blade and errrm snake-something dagger). Also, you can get two of them. However, take note that the best one handed Str-based light weapon is the bear claw.

Good light weapon is a lie
Found at least 4 good 2h weapons, but not light
Austellus Oct 22, 2014 @ 5:30am
Replaying, I've noticed something very odd. Early game, light weapons are everywhere, late game it's heavy. Before you find an upgrade to the bone club you've found the backbiter, the rapier and the machete, all decent light weapons.
