The second dungeon ornate/gold key?

I've scoured every wall corner and inch of the second dungeon (the one where you first encounter the trickster) and for the life of me I can't find the gold key. I've fallen in every hole, found secret buttons leading to secret buttons, solved every niche puzzle I could find, and it just doesn't seem to be anywhere. Yet there is still a big swirly gold keyhole in the wall of the one room the trickster was farting around in. And it's just staring me in the face.

My question is simple, where is the damn key?

I think that keyhole is simple the door that the trickster himself opened. He most likely took the key with him.

They should have just made him open the door with magic or some such, leaving an unused keyhole in this game jumpled my crammies too hard.

Secret wall button in the 1st sideroom the trickster opens.

Also, there are less gold keys than gold locks in the game. You can only open about half of the gold treasure rooms if you find all keys iirc. So mark those rooms on the map, come back when you find a key and save before entering incase it's not that usefull to you..

I think most people go through this, wondering what it's for, but as you progress you will notice that ornate keys are exclusively used for story progression and never lead to secrets or anything like that.

I just beat the game and this situation literally only occurs one or two more times, they really just should have used a lever.
