Scroll Rock Sword?!?!?!

Alright, obviously minor spoilers. So with that, I'll jump right in.

I have the other three totems from the ruins, no problem. I have explored every nook and cranny I can manage thus far, but absolutely nothing I use for the scroll slot seems to open the door and I'm at my wits end.

The dungeon provided a sword and a rock for me to use in the other two alcoves, for which I was grateful though I had both weapons and rocks in abundance, but failed to find a scroll that I can use. I have used spell scrolls, the "Scroll" that solved the 'light' puzzle prior, and even tried the Alchemical recipes. Nothing.

Am I doing something wrong? Or does this slot require a -very specific- scroll found somewhere in the ruins? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

No, but I misunderstood the hint. I thought it refers to the items used, not their order.
Althought I tried the order already, but in my language, where it is different :D
Well, I've got it now.

I've put rock scroll sword and whatever other variants and it still aint unlocked, is there actually a pair of scissors somewhere?

Have you put them in the right order?

put a small stone, then scroll then the sword, sword rock scroll, sword scroll rock, rock sword paper, paper rock sword, paper sword rock...i tried all permutations basically.

i beleive its bugged. unless there be a button to press after this in which case my dungeoneering skill needs some serious work.

Maybe you have to use a specific sword / specific scroll type? I used a spell scroll and the sword found in the dungeon. Did you use a recipe or the machete? or the sword from the beach? Maybe they don't work?

Sword beats scroll. Scroll beats rock. Rock beats sword.

I've had to look up things maybe a grand total of three or four times but boy did I feel silly each time

a puzzle that relies on knowledge of random trivia from another universe isn't a good puzzle.

It just wasn't as obvious to me as the developers thought it would be, or maybe they didn't, who knows.
