no idea on LoG2, but on LoG1 charges were single use only, like the bombs and potions

I Found an item somwhere that allowed you to recharge an item but it was single use

Recharging crystals can show up as loot now and then. There won't be many though, so use your weapon charges carefully.

press either the @ key or ~ tilde key and type this in exactly spawn("fire_blade") and then press enter. hey presto you have another fire sword that can shoot fireballs and toss the old one away. :) hope that helps, can do same with other swords too

I think there are between five and six re-charge stones in the entire game. I recommend saving them for higher end stuff like the crystal shield that heals your whole party, the meteor heavy weapon that fires meteor storm, the staves that cast force field or dispel, or one of the shields with elemental resist spell charges
