You have a good list of similar games purchased and I was a huge fan of Wizardry as a kid, but the Bard's Tale was my first grid game with such fond memories. I do hope that 'elps out and I know many times no one ever replies via these community discussions.
Thanks for the suggestions guys. I have Lords of Xulima on my wishlist and have been meaning to try it, but from the videos I watched it seemed quite different when compared with games like LOG so I've been putting it off.
I have Vaporum from a previous giveaway (Kartridge I think), but I've also been putting it off because I'm not a fan of the steampunk setting, but will have to try it in the future.
The opposite. It has quiet alot of puzzles/riddles included.
It is not a blobber, but you will miss a fantastic, rare gem, under all those trash indie games.
Wiz8 is definetely not "like grimrock", if we mean a tile-based dungeon-crawler.
Wiz7 and especially 6 are more LOG-like games, than wiz8 which is open-world classic rpg.
(it is a great and 1-of-best rpg, yes, but not sure its what peteurpola meant as "similar")
Darkest dungeon and DeepSky Derelicts look like LOG more than wiz8
I know, i refered more about his statement he made in his first post:
So i mentioned he has a gem still sleeping at home. :O)
I can't escape darkness (great atmosphere)
Might and magic X legacy (i'm sure you know, funny for me)
Ruzar: the life stone (another great game similar to LOG)
Paper Sorcerer (simple, different, but good)
Arx Fatalis (old but one of the best in my opinion, not tile-based)
Other than those, maybe remakes of the Dungeon Master duology, I remember playing the heck out of DM2 when I had Win95 but it was DOS based so probably remake or emulated these days.
If you don't mind shifting the battle system, maybe check out the Realms of Arkania trilogy, though I'd try the original builds if you can get them before the remakes so you've a better idea of what's happening.
Another one if you don't mind real old school would be Castle of the Winds or a similar Rogue-like/light. Be aware though, CotW is a 2 parter and was released way back in Win3 days, though I've played it on Win7 - you'll probably want to get used to num-pad controls for diagonals or mouse movement.
