Is a alchemist mage hybrid a viable thing?
and then not spend points in guns.

I was planning on to play this game again as it fell off the radar again for me.
So if you can please refrain from spoilers.

Dont pay attention to my 24 hours in game, i left it open overnight.

Sure. All you have to do is find him a wand or orb so your alchemist can cast spells.

Thanks for the input.

TiP: play the "magic of grimrock"-mod, if you like magic... (It's the main game with a much enhanced magic-system.)

And get your alchemist Earth and water asap, then...

I hate it when steam unsubscribes me at random.
sorry for the late reply.

Thanks for the suggestion but I am on my very first playthrough. I rather go in vannilla. (
I dont know how it affects balance of the game. like making it too easy. ( my primary concern )

I just reached the place where a letter and map was stuffed in a hollow tree. (after the forest idk what its called)

but kinda regret spending those points into firearms they are really lackluster and always out of ammo.
and then looking at the forums that they arent really usefull at all which is a shame because I really liked the idea and looks of firearms.

I might restart soon because my alchemist is kind of a liability in combat.
How are firearms later on in the game? I am not asking for maximizing effeciency but neither for a liability. ( because 15 average dmg. when my rest of the squad does 60+ on avarage)

well if any expierenced grimrockers would suggest if I should go in with magic of grimrock mod on the fisrt playthrough? please let me hear it. I am open to your opinions.

Playing on hard no ironman. because of the game bamboozle rate.
(I.E. musket teleport bamboozle)

Firearms are okay, but I put a few points into throwing weapons, accuracy and light weapons too. He can then use melee weapons from the back row, and throwing knives, etc. Kind of made him a generalist and gave him all throwables, like fire bombs, and charged wands.

Not sure how this will work out in the end, but I'm at level 8 and would hate to start again.

Figuring out the ideal party is a big part of the fun for me though. I'm really into the strategy of games.

I kinda failed with my alchemist mage hybrid.
I thought i could sneak in some firearm points but... I tottaly forgot concentration was a thing...

meh I just restart this weekend was not that far in. maybe 4 hours in which i can do much quicker now I know what to do until that point.

Yeah, I've restarted 4 or 5 times. The one that pissed me off was Rogue. They followed the canon of D&D and most other previous dungeon themed games, but threw this one out the window. Anyone can use lockpicks, so I'm not sure what they were thinking with that one.

Are you going to try the hybrid again? I'd be interested to see how that turns out.
