FINAL FANTASY XVI

FINAL FANTASY XVI

Statistiche:
Game ran fine for first 8 hours and now randomly dropping to sub 20 fps after a few minutes of play?
Has anyone else experienced this? All of a sudden fps is just tanking after playing for a few minutes. Even if I'm just in a menu screen it's stuck at 25-27fps?

Restarting game helps and then a few minutes later it's messed up again.

This happened after getting second Eikon. People are saying it's related to swapping Eikon abilities, I've yet to test that.

@redk thanks, but I am not in real life safe mode. Was basically using that as an exaggeration of killing all of my main processes(razer, AV, Epic, Ubi etc)
thy enabling razer back on and turning chroma apps for FFXIV on that seemed to be our fix
Chroma did not fix it for me. still crashes.

chroma isn't the fix for crashing
try disabling any factory or software overclock settings

Thanks Kaziedell, but renabling razer and rebooting etc yielded no change, still getting like 15fps after multiple attempts. Considering doing a complete wipe of PC and reinstalling only essentials to continue playing, the Ifrit vs. Garuda fight has me so hooked

sometimes bios or even windows have a default overclock settings (sometimes labeled as turbo or performance setting) enabled by default, thats an overclock, please check if you have any enabled

that seems consistent with the point of the game where our problem happens, please check our thread https://steamcommunity.com/app/2515020/discussions/1/4845399560307889826/

So I just uninstalled all Razer related software (Synapse etc) and then rebooted. I am now getting stable and suitable FPS in the game atm. For game context I am in Rosaria currently. Definitely on to something involving Razer software etc, why it is different for people with and without Razer software/devices I cannot fathom.
Same issue, games great but after a few hours of gameplay FPS drops to half, temp fix was restart the game..

thats a new fix for our problem, tough on our side was not having razer was the cause of the lag, interesting seeing yours was the opposite

what point of the game are you in?
did it start happening after meeting Benedikta aka garuda?
if so please check our thread https://steamcommunity.com/app/2515020/discussions/1/4845399560307889826/
For me the Eikon switching triggers it, if I don't switch, it runs smooth
Played this game on my friend account (we bought the game together, so basically game sharing).

By the way, I also get this issue. After some hours of gameplay the fps dropped from 60fps to 20-30fps. Usually I need to restart the game or pc to solve this.

My pc is not that good but it's enough i think.

Rx6600 8gb, 16gb of rams, and ssd.

Problem is the performance gets worse.

Not saying you're having or not having this problem.

Just saying it's not the game using more VRAM 50 minutes in after it had time to load a few things into VRAM and hasn't yet had a reason to swap them out.

The fact you have a problem doesn't mean every "symptom" you observe is actually a symptom to begin with.

Stillwind (prologue): around 8300mb
Martha's Rest: around 9500s
Go back to Stillwind: doesn't go back down to 8300s and now I get 30fps instead of max of 98fps or so

Would be nice if there was enough VRAM to begin with. Game should probably be unloading certain things, no? I don't care that certain areas are heavier, I care that they also indirectly affect others areas as well.

not necessarily , the game flushes memory whenever it needs to, for me it goes down after a while and sometimes can as high as 11 gb sometimes as low as 7 but it won't be the same all the time, however that's not the reason the game is lagging and going slow motion, we found the reason and were able to find a fix
